Michelle Williams  - Member at Large

 

Michelle is known for her enthusiasm, creativity, and eagerness to help her fellow brothers and sisters on their life journey.  She is the mother of a nearly adult daughter for whom Michelle is thankful to be modeling mental wellness and recovery from drugs and alcohol. Her road in recovery is faith in Jesus, singing, sharing her many talents and being an inspiration to others. She is an active member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Santa Barbara, a participant in the Voice Hearing Network and self-help groups, and is certified as a NAMI Peer 2 Peer trainer.

 

Michelle worked as a…at the Santa Barbara County Behavioral Wellness department where she was a much-loved member of the AOT outreach team. She is currently employed as a Peer Specialist at the Santa Barbara Mental Wellness Center, where she shares the story of her own emergence from addiction, homelessness, incarceration and psychiatric hospitalization to assist others in identifying their priorities and their goals and finding their way to wellness.
